This is Koen's scince project

The biome I chose was Diciduous forest.

you can find Deciduous forests eastern North America, and in central Europe. there are numerous deciduous forests in Asia. A few of major areas are in southwest Russia, Japan, and eastern China. South America has 2 big deciduous forests in southern Chile and Middle East Paraguay. There are deciduous forests in New Zealand, and southeastern Australia too. The annual temperature in a deciduous forest has an average of 10° celcius. The average rainfall is 76.2 to 152.4 centimeters a year. deciduous forests have five different zones. The first zone is the Tree Stratum zone. The Tree Stratum zone has many kinds of trees ranging from oak to sweet gum. This zone's height ranges from 18.288 metres to 30.48 metres.

Animal: Red Fox

his name is freddie floofis, change my mind

The red fox generally lives on the edges of wooded areas, prairies and farmlands. Foxes only use dens when they are breeding. These dens are usually dug in sand and soil. When building the den, the fox makes sure there is more than one entrance in case of danger. When the red fox is not breeding, it sleeps in the open and keeps warm by wrapping itself with its long bushy tail. Red foxes are nocturnal, but it’s not unusual for them to be spotted during the day. They also have exceptional sight, smell and hearing abilities which makes them excellent hunters. Unlike other mammals, the red fox is able to hear low-frequency sounds which help them hunt small animals, even when they’re underground!.

f a c t s: Red foxes are not all red. Other common red fox colours include brown, black and silver. Even foxes that come from the same litter can be different colours.

plant: Fern

The ferns are extremely diverse in habitat, form, and reproductive methods. In size alone they range from minute filmy plants only 1–1.2 cm (0.39–0.47 inch) tall to huge tree ferns 10 to 25 metres (30 to 80 feet) in height. Some are twining and vinelike; others float on the surface of ponds. The majority of ferns inhabit warm, damp areas of the Earth. Growing profusely in tropical areas, ferns diminish in number with increasingly higher latitudes and decreasing supplies of moisture. Few are found in dry, cold places. The most notable adaptation ferns have is the presence of a rhizome. The rhizome, or stem, of the fern develops horizontally under the soil, containing a growing tip that gives way to new frond development. The consistency of rhizomes can vary from wood-like hardness to plush-like softness in texture.

f a c t s:There are about 10,560 known species of fern.
